Furnace Features

Efficiency: New furnaces are now 90-98% efficient, compared to older models which are usually only 60-98% efficient. This means you can save up to 40% on heating costs by upgrading.

Variable Speed Fan  Motors: Furnaces don't just use a lot of gas- they are also often a home' s largest consumer of electricity.  New furnaces with variable speed  fan motors will save you $40 to $300 per year on electricity (depending on the size of your home and whether or not the fan motor is run continuously). When paired with multi-stage burners, a variable speed furnace can supply your home with a slow and consistent circulation that will reduce hot and cold spots and temperature fluctuations over time.

Two-Stage Or Multi-Stage Burners: Older furnaces can only run at full capacity. They typically blast your home with hot air for a few minutes, and then wait for your home to get too cold before starting up again. New two-stage furnaces have a lower stage that they operate in most of the time, and this prevents temperature fluctuations over time.

Warranty: Warranties on new furnaces have been getting longer and longer.  Basic new furnaces usually include 20 year heat exchanger warranties and 5 year warranties on other parts.  Higher end models typically include  lifetime heat exchanger warranties and 10 years coverage on other parts. However, note that  all manufacturers require annual maintenance to keep their warranties valid.

Quietness: Due to their sealed combustion, new high efficiency furnaces can be much quieter than older furnaces. This is especially the case with higher end models. You can hear just how quiet new furnaces are in our showroom.
